If you're my age, you remember the days of your ballpark food selection being hot dogs, peanuts, generic nachos, popcorn, and ice cream. There might be a burger or fries on the menu or something like that, but not much else.
Whatever you can say about how much better or worse baseball is today...and I can make an argument for either side...this is one part of the game that has gotten infinitely better for fans.
Many teams not only have a wide selection of gastronomic delights, they also showcase some of the popular delicacies and/or eateries that their city is known for.
The Phillies and Yankees both excel at this. Would you believe there are (at least) six different types of cheesesteaks at Citizens Bank Park? Tony Luke's, Campo's, Uncle Charlie's, Philly's Best, Bull's BBQ's Burnt Ends, and a perfectly acceptable generic edition. That's not even counting that there are four popular joints within walking distance.
It's also not counting the triumphant return of the Schmitter® (yes, it's trademarked), which was my favorite sandwich at the ballpark...and that's saying something at the Bank.
The Yankees' food menu is equally impressive. They highlight a bunch of outstanding local eateries in NYC, including Brooklyn Dumplings, Bondi Sushi, Lobel's Beef, Halal Guys Gyros (my favorite), and Streetbird among many others. I have yet to have a food item at Yankee Stadium that I didn't like; everything there is high quality.

Are you vegan, have an allergy, or follow other dietary restrictions? Most all ballparks will accommodate you these days. Have a look at the menu on the team website (or on Ballpark E-Guides!); they'll usually specify what's available.
If not, look into the restaurants are attached to the ballpark; they'll have a varied menu and servers are usually glad to help.
